Im 24 years old but keep saying 25 when people ask my age because I’M ALMOST 25. OK OK I’ll be 25 in November long time from now but the years go by so fast so I might as well say 25 already. I currently have enough to give for my car payment for July *sobbing* and was looking for a job online on Indeed.com. I see a job position for Palm Springs Life magazine to be a “social media and online content editor.” I scroll to the requirements section and start cringing when I start seeing that I have no experience!

This is when I get hungry to be successful and start thinking of ways of becoming rich and famous! *Grinning* Or just continue looking for other jobs I may have experience in.
“Hmm, interesting,” I think. Another job posting, “Writer, Photographers, Wardrobe & Beauty Stylists Locale Magazine- Palm Springs, CA.” Sounds fun even if its not a paying job.
“Locale Magazine is currently seeking contributing writers, photographers, and stylists for the online portion of our magazine! Based out of Costa Mesa, California, we are a lifestyle publication that covers all things food, drink, style, art, events, decor and more in Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, and have recently opened markets in Palm Springs, Las Vegas and San Francisco. We cover inspiring people, places and things that allow our contributors to meet high profile people and attend a variety of topnotch happenings…..”
This sounds perfect! I’ll give it a shot. As I am filling out the small application I come across a question that ruins me all the time.
Specialty: What position are you looking to Contribute as?: *

No! I have no samples of my work or a portfolio of my talents! Great! Again I’m discouraged and need to do something about this. I have came up with a good idea of starting to write a blog about places I visit, foods I eat, and music I am obsessed with and maybe a little bit more about myself and the way I think. I will start expressing myself in my own unique writing. I will use this blog site as a portfolio of my work and hopefully get recognized to land my dream job. This is the reason I am here.
